The first introduction to Salomon was a special one!
The purchase of a Salomon trail shoe was already noted, but I am very attached to my “old” brand. It is for me, but I am sure for all trail runners very important … A good trail shoe with ditto damping, stability and fit, so why switch?
But after the election via # JouTrail to Montafon … a collaboration between Salomon, Gearlimits and Montafon Austria, I was provided with a nice trail package from the brand Salomon. One of the items concerns pair Salomon trail shoes.
The Salomon Sense Ride, a versatile trail shoe for both novice and advanced trail runners!
The first experience is immediately super! Not only because the always smiling Pascal van Norden is my training mate for today.
When putting on the shoe, it is immediately cast on my foot … a must for walking trails. The Sensefit system ensures a good fit and fits perfectly around my foot.
The laces … the so-called Quicklace system is great! The cord can be put away in the storage compartment in the tongue of the shoe. No problems with laces that can stick to shrubs, branches, etc. during the trail.
Yes … the first few minutes are hopeful for nice cooperation between the shoe and me! I’ve felt even more excited because the ultimate test of the shoe is a week later during the ‘Koning van Spanje trail in Gulpen (Netherlands).
On the road!
The first meters can be made! On the dune, forest and beach to test whether the shoe does what it is made during the trail.
Provide sufficient cushioning and stability to perform …
The first kilometres give a good feeling … the shoe is stable. That stability has been introduced by Salomon with the applied Vibe Technology.
A midsole of Energy Cell and Opal, which counteracts the vibrations and gives you more energy during the trailrun.
The Sense Ride feels very comfortable on the dune and forest trails. I am becoming more and more enthusiastic. Quickly looking for climbs in the dunes!
I have to do it in my training area, the Katwijk Zuidduinen, with a few dune tops and lookouts, alternating with short climbs and beach entrances.
No problem! If you walk up and down these enough … make sure you have enough altitude meters to test the Salomon Sense Ride for grip. And grip is not entirely unimportant when walking trails.
The shoe is equipped with a Premium Wet Traction Contagrip. A sole that provides good grip on different types of surfaces.
And that is noticeable during my first experience with the Sense Ride!
That’s fine … and gives a more than good feeling towards the King of Spain.
During the KvS I am sure that the shoe offers what it stands for: Stable, agile, grip, so reliable!
Stable and manoeuvrable on the single tracks, behaves like a “road shoe” on pieces of asphalt and the climbs and descents give the Rock Protection plate protection against loose stones and tree trunks.
I’m happy and fly over the Limburg hills.
A friendship is closed, and that is with a trail shoe … the Salomon Sense Ride.
