History
Lezyne was founded on March 1st, 2007, by industry icon Micki Kozuschek and other industry partners. A former professional triathlete, Kozuschek is native to Germany. In the prime of his athletic career, Kozuschek began Maxcycles and brought affordable, high-quality bicycles and clothing to the German market. Shortly after moving to the USA, Kozuschek founded Truvativ, which grew to become a leading manufacturer of OEM and aftermarket cycling components. In 2004, Kozuschek sold Truvativ to SRAM and began a two-year break from the cycling industry to focus on building his dream home and spending time with his family.
Then in 2007, Kozuschek re-entered the cycling industry with Lezyne – Engineered Design. At a time when inexpensive, plastic, catalogue-copied accessories that didn’t work were the standard, Lezyne’s goal was to engineer and produce premium quality accessories that meet the same high standards as high-end bicycle components. In few words, Lezyne’s goal was Engineered Design.
Collaboration with athletes
Lezyne works with a large number of athletes in various cycling disciplines, such as Danny MacAskill – with whom they jointly produced a special Danny MacAskill multi-tool that fitted everything he needed for his busy life on the road. Alison Tetrick has been actively involved in the development of GPS head units.
MacAskill Block Multi-Tool
MacAskill Block is an extremely versatile, durable tool designed to meet the needs of pro trials rider Danny MacAskill. The CNC-machined I-Beam body design is lightweight and rigid. The forged Chrome Vanadium bits are nickel plated for durability.
The long body and 8mm Allen bit provides ample leverage for tightening cranks and pedals. The offset wrapped bit design allows for a compact tool profile. The MacAskill block is simple and elegant with a custom two-tone anodized finish. Danny’s signature is CNC-machined into the body of the tool, proof of his approval.
