We are always trying to get to know brands better. We want to find out about the DNA of the company, because that can be found in every product that is made. We talked to te people of Berghaus about this and they invited us to experience this DNA.
We started with the Berghaus Hyper Hydroshell and Hyper 100 jacket. We got wet, tired, dirty, warm, cold, feel the exhaustion, and experienced what the jackets did for us.
// Adventure Review of the Hyper 100 Jacket
“It’s really not about the gear,” is the first line you will hear in our Berghaus Adventure Video part 1. A strange thing to say, certainly when we call ourselves
GearLimits and almost everything we write or talk about is gear. But we do mean it. Gear is not a goal in itself; it is always aimed at enabling the outdoor activities we love to do. Anything that really helps enjoy those activities more, helps us be better at what we do or makes us safer in what we are doing, is worth talking about.
After the amazing time we had in Kielder Forest, we returned to Holland. We had planned to swing by Berghaus HQ during this first visit but thanks to storm Doris we didn’t have enough time to do that.
So three weeks later we flew back to Newcastle, drove to Sunderland and had the chat we had been waiting for; and more. Besides talking to James about the development of the Hyper and the Hyper 100 jacket we had the opportunity to roam around Berghaus HQ freely, talk to the team there and visit the MtnHaus.
The Berghaus Hyper jacket is ideal for trail running, fastpacking and hiking, or any outdoor adventure when the reassurance of a waterproof is essential, but keeping the load light is a preference.
The Berghaus Hyper jacket is made from the brand’s own Hydroshell™ Hyper fabric, with a hydrostatic head of 15,000mm and breathability of 10,000g/m2/24hrs.
Micro taping throughout the inside guarantees that this is a waterproof product, while the tough ripstop face delivers great durability for such a light material. Minimalist design includes only essential features, such as a tab down fitted hood and stretch bound cuffs and hem.
